    Real Ethiopian Opal Earrings

Our Ethiopian Opal Stud Earrings set a genuine Welo opal in a classic four-prong setting – 4mm or 6mm, in sterling silver, gold vermeil or rose gold vermeil. Our Ethiopian Opal Drop Earrings let faceted opal move and catch the light, in sterling silver, gold filled or rose gold filled. No two opals are identical: each shows its own flashes of green, pink and gold.

    Created Opal Earrings

Lab-grown white and blue opal with CZ accents, set in 925 sterling silver with rhodium, 14K gold or 14K rose gold plating: the White Opal Stud Earrings, Blue Opal Stud Earrings, White Opal Teardrop Stud Earrings, Blue Opal Teardrop Stud Earrings and White Opal Halo Stud Earrings.

Our created opal studs and the Ethiopian Opal Stud Earrings ship from stock – order by noon on a working day for same-day dispatch, otherwise they go out the next working day.

Real or Created Opal: How to Tell

This page lists real and created opal separately, and every product page says which kind of opal it is. Real opal is natural and mined, so every stone is unique. Created opal is grown in a laboratory with the same play of colour, at an everyday price. Both are beautiful – we simply make sure you always know which one you are choosing.

    Caring for Opal Earrings

Ethiopian opal is hydrophane – it can absorb water, which temporarily dulls its colour play. Take your earrings out before showering, swimming or applying perfume, and store them in their Abiza pouch between wears.
