The information a paramedic needs, on something you will actually wear.
A slim 38mm bar engraved with your condition, your allergies and a number to ring, with the medical symbol engraved beside it so it is recognised for what it is. Ambulance crews are trained to look at the wrist and the neck, so a bracelet only works if it is on — which is the whole reason this one is made to look like jewellery rather than equipment.
Three Finishes, One Design
Silver, 18K gold or 18K rose gold, plated over surgical-grade stainless steel. The plating is PVD, so it holds its colour through daily wear, including showers and swimming.

What to Engrave
You have three lines of 18 characters on the front. Choose Both Sides under Engraving if you need the back as well — the back is curved, so it holds about four words over two lines.
Three layouts that work, all shown in the product images:
- NUT ALLERGY · EPIPEN IN BAG · NHS NO: 485 777 34 56
- PENICILLIN ALLERGY · ICE: 07535450259 · Type 1 Diabetes
- MARGARET SMITH · ICE (MUM): 07714 12 3456 · ICE (SON): 07714 12 3456
The principle is the same each time: the thing that changes how you are treated, then what must not be given or where your medication is, then a number someone can ring. Capitals read fastest under pressure. Keep it to what matters — a full medical history will not fit and will not be read. If you are not sure what to put, send us what you have and we will lay it out with you before engraving.
Conditions People Engrave
The ones we are asked for most often are diabetes, epilepsy, severe allergies and anaphylaxis, blood thinners such as warfarin, asthma, Addison's, pacemakers and heart conditions, dementia with a carer's number, and blood group. It is also ordered for a child's first school year, for chemotherapy patients, and for anyone whose medication list would matter if they could not speak.
Which Size?
One size, adjusted by you. The chain has a sliding toggle rather than a clasp, so it closes anywhere up to 9 inches and can be put on and taken off with one hand — which matters more than it sounds if dexterity is part of why you are wearing it. Measure round your wrist bone and anything under 9" will fit.
Care
The plating is water and tarnish resistant, so everyday wear is no problem. To keep the shine for longer, take it off before saunas or applying perfume and lotion, and store it in your Abiza pouch when it is not on. Read our guide to gold plated jewellery if you would like to know how the finish is made.
