About Aquamarine
Aquamarine is a member of the beryl family, the same mineral group that gives us emerald — but where emerald takes its green from chromium, aquamarine takes its soft blue from iron. The name comes from the Latin aqua marina, meaning sea water, after the gentle blue-green colour of the Mediterranean.
