About London Blue Topaz
Topaz is one of the four traditional precious gemstones (alongside diamond, ruby and sapphire) and one of the hardest, with a Mohs hardness of 8 — well-suited for everyday wear. The London Blue variety is named for its deep, almost-inky blue colour, achieved through a standard industry treatment that enhances the natural blue tones found in colourless topaz — a long-established technique used in fine jewellery for decades. The stone in our Sun Necklace is genuine London Blue Topaz, with the rich, even teal-blue colour the variety is prized for. A meaningful gift for December birthdays, 4th wedding anniversaries (the traditional blue topaz anniversary), or anyone drawn to its quiet, deep blue.
Care
The chain and pendant are water and tarnish resistant — but the topaz is bonded into the centre and prefers a little protection. Remove your necklace before showering, swimming, saunas or applying perfume and lotion to keep the stone secure and looking its best. Store in your Abiza box when not worn.
