Necklace Length Guide
Choosing the right necklace length can make all the difference to how your jewellery sits and feels. Our visual guide shows the four most popular lengths on an average neckline so you can easily see where each one falls:

14" – Choker Length
Sits closely around the base of the neck. Perfect for a snug, elegant fit or for layering with longer pieces. -
16" – Classic Short Necklace
Falls just below the collarbone on most people. A timeless everyday length and ideal for small pendants. -
18" – Standard Pendant Length
Rests on the upper chest. This is our most popular and versatile length for gifting, flattering most necklines. -
20" – Longer, Relaxed Length
Sits a little lower on the chest for an effortlessly elegant look. Great for creating a layered style or adding extra movement.
Tip: Everyone’s proportions are a little different. If you're choosing a gift, 18" is the safest all-round option—beautiful on its own and easy to layer with other pieces.

The Design
A polished compass pendant with the wearer's initials engraved across the face and a sparkling cubic zirconia stone set at the centre — where the needle would point. The detail is intentional: the initials are who they are, the stone is the point they're navigating from.
Worn on a paperclip link chain that gives the piece a slightly more contemporary feel than a delicate cable — substantial enough to carry the size of the compass without ever feeling heavy.
Add a Crystal Birthstone
The centre of the compass can hold an optional crystal birthstone — a single tiny stone in the colour of your chosen birth month. The stone is set where the compass needle would point, so it carries its own quiet meaning: your starting point, your North.
Crystal birthstones are faceted to match each birth month's traditional colour at a delicate scale that suits the compass design. Or leave the centre clean for a more minimalist look — both work beautifully.
Add a Hidden Message — Reverse Engraving
The back of the compass can carry a second piece of personalisation — coordinates of a meaningful place, a date, a short message of guidance. The initials sit on the front for the world to see; the reverse is just for them.

How It Works
- Choose your finish — 18K gold plated, silver or 18K rose gold plated
- Enter the initials to be engraved on the front of the compass
- Add a reverse engraving message if you'd like one (coordinates, date, words)

Made to Order
Each necklace is engraved to order in our Chester studio. Please double-check spelling, dates, coordinates and any special characters before checkout. Because each piece is personalised, we're unable to accept returns or exchanges on customised pieces unless there's a fault on our end. If something isn't right, contact us straight away and we'll put it right.
Care
Hypoallergenic, water and tarnish-resistant — safe for daily wear including showers and exercise. Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear and avoid prolonged contact with perfume, lotion and chlorinated water to keep both the engraving and the finish at their best for years.
