About the stone — ruby
Ruby is one of the world's four precious gemstones alongside diamond, sapphire, and emerald. Its deep red comes from chromium within the crystal structure — the more intense the chromium, the more vivid the red. These rubies are genuine stones, glass-filled to enhance their clarity and colour: a standard and widely used treatment in the ruby market that makes quality ruby accessible at a price point that reflects the stone's real character. Minor natural inclusions are part of every ruby's story.
Ruby is July's birthstone and the traditional stone for a 40th wedding anniversary. Associated with passion, courage, and self-confidence — and with the root chakra for grounding and vital energy. Read the full guide in our Ruby July Birthstone blog.
Care
Avoid prolonged contact with water, perfume, and lotion to protect the gold vermeil finish. Store in the Abiza pouch when not worn. The glass filling in the stone means ultrasonic cleaners should be avoided — clean gently with a soft damp cloth only.
