Real Ethiopian black opal, hand-strung in the UK

Real natural untreated Ethiopian black opal, hand-cut and faceted into rondelles in our Chester studio. The strand graduates from 3.5mm at the clasp end to 5mm at the centre — a deliberate statement shape only the Fine silhouette carries — finished with randomly scattered 3mm metal beads. Ethiopian opal carries the classic colour play and flash of natural opal in a darker body tone, every bead slightly different. The October birthstone, traditionally given to mark a 14th wedding anniversary, and our most premium opal in the Fine range.

An October Birthstone Bracelet for the Moments That Matter

Black opal is the October birthstone, and traditionally given to mark a 14th wedding anniversary — both occasions that ask for a piece worn for years, not seasons. Known as a stone of manifestation, good luck and renewed vitality, it suits the kind of recipient who's stepping into a new chapter: a milestone birthday, a quiet recovery, a new beginning. Pair with our White Opal Fine bracelet for a colour-paired stack, or wear solo as the statement piece on the wrist.

Materials and Finishes

Available in three finishes: Sterling Silver, 14K Gold Filled, and Rose Gold Filled. The strand carries randomly scattered 3mm metal beads along the opal, finishing with a lobster clasp and 1.5" extender chain.

Sizing

Adjustable from 6.5" to 8" (16.5–20 cm) using the extender chain — suitable for most wrist sizes. Not sure of your size? Measure around your wrist with a soft tape, then add ½" (1 cm) for a comfortable fit. Custom lengths available on request, just send a message before ordering.

Healing Benefits — Black Opal at a Glance

  • Manifestation — long carried as a stone of intention-setting, said to help turn imagined outcomes into lived reality.
  • Good Luck & Positivity — traditionally worn as a fortune-bringer, encouraging an optimistic outlook in difficult chapters.
  • Vitality — said to support energy levels and a renewed sense of being physically and emotionally awake.
  • Eases Stress and Depression — traditionally turned to during low or anxious periods for its quiet, steadying presence.
  • Root & Crown Chakra — black opal connects the grounding base chakra with the spiritual crown, balancing the energetic axis.

These properties are based on traditional crystal beliefs and are not a substitute for medical or psychological advice.

Care

Opal is a softer, water-sensitive stone — keep away from water, perfume, lotions, household chemicals and knocks against hard surfaces to preserve the colour, finish and the stone's natural lustre. Remove before showering, swimming and sleeping. Store in your Abiza gift box when not worn.

Packaging

Hand-strung and quality-checked in our Chester studio, then presented in our signature Abiza gift box with a crystal information card explaining the stone's properties — ready to give, no extra wrapping needed. Gift card available as an add-on.
