About 26 years ago I was walking along the Ponte Veccio bridge in Florence it was winter time or at least late autumn. The bridge is the one with the multiple levels, on the top you will find the gold dealers-auctioneer’s .Their shop windows are as you would imagine displaying lots of gold. But one in particular caught my eye and it’s the memory of this that encouraged me to buy the ear studs. The display had gold laid over turquoise silk sheets creating a striking contrast rather like looking down into crystal clear waters surrounding a desert island and finding a long lost pirates treasure. Anyway it did it for me, other than that I specifically didn’t want a stone that was glued on because they seem to come loose drop of and then I can never find them. In this instance the gold is clamping down on the beautiful turquoise stone.
Thanks!
