A Note on Our Black Tourmaline

Every piece in this collection is made with real natural black tourmaline — never dyed black onyx, black glass or reconstituted stone. Tourmaline is a naturally opaque, jet-black mineral with subtle striations along the crystal, and you'll see small natural variations in colour saturation, finish and inclusion between beads. That's what tells you a stone is real. If a product anywhere on our site uses a different black stone, we say so clearly in the title and description.

Black Tourmaline as October's Birthstone and Protective Stone

    Personalise Your Black Tourmaline

The Black Tourmaline Sun Necklace can be engraved on the back of the pendant — a name, initials, a date, a short word — for a small additional charge. It's our most-gifted personalised piece in the tourmaline range, often chosen as an October birthday gift or as a meaningful keepsake for someone going through a difficult period. See our full Personalised Jewellery collection for more engravable options.

    Caring for Black Tourmaline Jewellery

Black tourmaline is a hard, durable gemstone, but the metal settings still need looking after. Remove your piece before showering, swimming, sleeping or applying perfume and lotion. Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear, and store in your Abiza pouch or gift box when not worn to protect both the chain and the stone's polish. With this care, your tourmaline piece will hold its lustre for years.
